The Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514); Section 15 (1) and (2) requires every employer and every self-employed person to ensure, so far as is practicable, the safety, health and welfare at work of all his employees. In order to comply with the Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Act, an organization has to initiate to establish and maintain procedures for ongoing identification of hazards, the assessment of risks, and the implementation of necessary control measures

What Will You Learn?

  • To provide participants with a structured system for identifying hazards, assessing risks associated with those hazards, putting in place measures to control the unacceptable risks and to review the control measures to ensure they are effective and have not introduced new hazards.
  • The general safety of an industry encompasses various aspects that needs identification of the safe and unsafe acts at work place and at the same time implementations of preventive actions. The understanding of Hazards and risks and the preparation of job procedures and job safety analysis to assist in the management of through risk assessment and controls and accident prevention at work place.
  • The HIRAC covering the statutory and legislations guidelines with the code of practices encompassing the physical environment and workplace design, mechanical, electrical and other related influencing factors.
