For those whose first language is not English, it is sometimes a struggle to understand and master this language. In reality it can be done through tailor-made programmes and constant practice.

English Proficiency for Beginners takes into consideration the needs of Malaysian adults who fall into the abovementioned category. It covers not only speaking but also the necessary elements of communication.

It is vital for all participants to understand how communication is part and parcel of language. In fact, this knowledge can be used effectively in their working lives. By doing so, they may be able to, amongst others:

  • Increase productivity at work
  • Improve communication with customers and within their departments
  • Help themselves to improve their own career opportunities within the organization

Grammar components have also been included in this programme. This is simply because it has been found that lack of knowledge of grammar is why many are unable to construct proper sentences. Some grammar rules are like a formula that can be learned and applied repeatedly. This can be easily taught.
