About Course

The Code of Practice on The Prevention and Eradication of Sexual Harassment at the work place was launched by the Ministry of Human Resources in 1999. Workplace bullying and sexual harassment is persistent pattern of mistreatment from others in the workplace that causes either physical or emotional harm and psychological. It can include such tactics as verbal, nonverbal, psychological, and physical abuse, as well as humiliation. This type of workplace aggression is particularly difficult because, unlike the typical workplace bullies and sexual harassment often operate within the established rules and policies of their organization.
In the majority of cases, bullying and sexual harassment in the workplace must be reported and these reports has to be taken seriously by the organization and most of the time it has been done by someone in the company or even those in authority over the victim. However, bullies can also be peers, and rarely subordinate this includes foreign workers.
Now, with the amended Employment Act 1955 which include Sexual Harassment, employers may be liable to fine of up to RM50,000.00 for failing to investigate complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace. Thus, this course able to help organization and also participants to know more about workplace bullying and sexual harassment.
