Eight Disciplines Problem Solving (8D) is a method used to approach and to resolve problems, typically employed by quality engineers or other professionals. Its purpose is to identify, correct, and eliminate recurring problems, and it is useful in product and process improvement. It establishes a permanent corrective action based on statistical analysis of the problem (when appropriate) and focuses on the origin of the problem by determining its root causes.
This training covers the skills and knowledge required to understand the root cause of the problem via PDCA, 8-D and other relevant tools and techniques that will introduce appropriate actions to contain, correct and prevent the problem from recurring. It also helps to clearly differentiate 3 critical actions that are required for different situations.
The outcome of the Basic 8D Problem Solving shall be the development of practical problem solver that leads to organization improvement and customer satisfaction.
