Biography
Pushpa Nair is a trainer whose focus area is the operationalising of compliance requirements. She is a lawyer who graduated from Universiti Malaya with an LL. B (1st STANDARD BIODATA class Hons) and also has a Master’s degree in law from the University of Cambridge, a Post Graduate Diploma in EC Competition Law and a Post Graduate Diploma in Economics for Competition Law from King's College, London. A believer in life long learning she has also completed the Certificate in Sustainability Strategies and the Circular Economy from the
Cambridge Judge Business School and is now a Certified Sustainability Professional under the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards.
She has worked as an academic, as in house counsel in several commercial enterprises and in several regulatory bodies. She spent the last 20 years dealing primarily with telecom and broadcasting regulation. In fact, her exposure to the importance of compliance and reporting came through her work in the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) where among others, she was the Head of the Monitoring and Enforcement Division after serving as the pioneer Legal Adviser of the Commission. She left the MCMC in 2007 and has since served in the UAE with the telecom regulator there as well as in Myanmar where she was Head of Regulatory Affairs for Ooredoo Myanmar.
Her work has led to direct experience with the impact of non-compliance with ESG matters and she is a passionate advocate of trying doing the right thing both at work and at home.
