Biography
Sunita Devi is a Certified Sustainability Reporting Specialist who has been consulting, training and moderating engagements on Sustainability, ESG, Non-Financial Reporting and Compliance Requirements of Stock Exchanges in Asia, UN SDGs and Integrated Reporting on Annual Reports for Board of Directors and Senior Managers in public listed companies since 2013.
She has trained over 10000 people and completed above 8500 hours of trainings within 1800 days since 2004 till 2022. Her most sought after training programmes in 2022 were related to Sustainable Finance, Net Zero Target, Decarbonizing Supply Chain. Since 2008, Sunita has been writing on sustainability, speaking about the UN SDGs and Bursa Malaysia’s Reporting Requirements to create awareness for Public Listed Companies and SMEs.
Her consultancy services with public listed companies include updating them on latest developments supply chain and sustainable investments, climate change risk and investment portfolio, Circular Economy (EPR) initiatives for FMCG and Manufacturers, Upscaling innovation with e-waste recovery, UN-SDGs and City Planning, SDG jobs for GLCs and so forth.
Sunita’s experience in determining ESG Performance gaps just by scanning through an organization’s materiality matrix helps to pin point “greenwashing” reporting practices. She advises Senior Management to steer clear of such reputational risks. Her gap analytics from the Annual Report and Sustainability Report of companies would also formulate effective strategies for sustainable development of the business followed by series of trainings and workshops for VP, Senior Managers, Operation Units and staff of the organization. Sunita’s delivery breaks down complex organizational issues to functional level improvements in terms of the SOPs, Policy Governance, KPI measures at all functions within the business. During engagements with clients Sunita makes sure she asks the right questions to prompt Senior Management to think of solutions that are considered “quick win principles” into simple language, practical examples and easily applied methods. Her programmes are delivered in dual language and her scores from training evaluations by Securities Investment Development Commission is above 4.5 out of 5.00 for overall presentations on sustainability topics.
She had obtained a master’s degree in Knowledge Management and has contributed to a funded PhD research. She is currently concluding her DBA research on Sustainability. She holds a Certificate from Oxford - Law and Sustainability.
